On February 8, 2025, the university sports diving group (TSG), in cooperation with the diving club Koralle (TCK) from Muggensturm, enabled some students to dive into a new world - for the first time also for students with disabilities. We are pleased that the event was very well received by the participants and we wish them good air at all times for their possible further diving career!

On February 8, 2025, the German University Athletics Championships took place in the Glaspalast Sindelfingen. As in previous years, KIT was represented by a large delegation and was once again able to underline its class in German university sport with numerous best performances, medals and strong placings.

We asked students with disabilities about their sports experiences at KIT University Sports. Our first testimonial is from Pascal, who has already taken part in the windsurfing course and actively trains in the walk-in. You can find the entire interview on our website.

On Thursday, 06.02.2025, the water supply will be turned off in building 40.40 from 07:00 - 12:00. The showers and toilets will be closed. Please use the sanitary facilities in the adjacent building 40.44. Thank you for your understanding.

The rescheduled DHM for 2024 took place in Biedenkopf from 24 to 26 January 2025 - a weekend full of top sporting performances, a rousing atmosphere and a sea of yellow T-shirts. The Karlsruhe kings, the largest delegation on site with 66 people out of around 600 athletes, lived up to their name and left a lasting impression - both on and off the competition field.

The Sportmix tournament organized by the Erasmus Students Network (ESN) Karlsruhe was a complete success! The participants were enthusiastic and expressed their desire for similar events in the future. The participation of our guests from ESN Strasbourg, who also enjoyed the tournament, was particularly pleasing.

On Friday, 13.12.2024, the fencing department of KIT University Sports organized an internal tournament. The event was held in the so-called relay mode - an exciting format in which one epee and one foil fencer form a team of two.

Combining a sustainable lifestyle and sporting activity with environmental protection? This is precisely the aim of our GreenSTEPS project. The idea behind it is simple: to combine study, sport, nutrition and leisure in an environmentally friendly overall package that is fun and at the same time raises awareness of a greener lifestyle.

The walk-in will also be open for you on Sundays from 2025. From January 12, 2025, you can always train at the walk-in on Sundays between 12.00 and 16.00. With this happy news, we wish you all a sporty and fit new year!

The university sports team wishes you all a happy and relaxing Christmas season, wonderful holidays and a lively start to 2025! A big thank you to our dedicated department and exercise instructors and to all participants who make university sports at IfSS so lively and special. Thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment in 2024!

This year's individual university championships took place in Göttingen on November 16 and 17, 2024. In the epee, sabre and foil disciplines, the team was able to present itself with good individual placings, a podium finish and the highest number of participants of all universities.

On January 18, 2025, the walk-in will host its annual winter special in Hall 2, which is free of charge for all HSP-eligible students! Please register online here! In addition, the university sports project GreenSTEPS will provide the right setting in the foyer of Hall 2 with a healthy nutrition offer and a sports equipment flea market on a donation basis!

On 06.12.2024, athletes from all over Germany met in Duisburg for the DHM Judo to compete against each other. With 446 entries from 94 universities, the field of participants was impressively large again this year. From Karlsruhe, 32 judoka from KIT and other universities competed - motivated to give their best.

Together with two horses and a motivated team, the riding team traveled to the riding facility in Kreuth. In addition to many great performances, the riders achieved a good 8th place in the team ranking. The season was finally crowned with the DHM title in the combined classification.

The DHM Swimming 2024 took place in Munich from 22 to 24 November, in which the WG Karlsruhe swimming team took part with great anticipation and ambition. Impressive individual performances and a 3rd place out of 77 participating teams in the team ranking were achieved.

On 19.11.2024, WG Karlsruhe competed here in Hall 2 at KIT Campus South for a place in the final round of the DHM Badminton. The guests were WG Stuttgart, WG Munich and WG Freiburg. After exciting matches, it was clear that Karlsruhe would be playing in the Final4 of the DHM 2025 again after a year's absence!

University sports and the walk-in will close their properties from 23.12.2024 to 06.01.2025. All sports halls, stadium, indoor swimming pool and walk-in health center, including courses, will remain closed. We look forward to welcoming you back in the new year!

On November 2, 2024, seven athletes competed for the WG Karlsruhe at the DHM 2024 in Hildburghausen. In addition to DHM titles and other podium finishes for the Karlsruhe participants, Jessica Wolf and Kaize Zhou qualified for the EUC Combat Games 2025 with their placings. In the last week of September, 18 HSP students made their way to the kite camp on the Ijsselmeer in Holland. An unforgettable camp, in which not only the wind and the highly motivated Like2Kite kite school, but also the participants themselves contributed significantly to the success! We are already looking forward to next year.

Consisting of a workshop on the culture of the Black Forest and three hiking dates, the international students once again laced up their hiking boots in the summer semester to explore the areas around the Gertelbach waterfalls, Mummelsee/Hornisgrinde and Sankenbachsteig. With mostly sunshine and blue skies, many beautiful impressions were collected.

On October 15, 2024, KIT University Sports opened its doors for the seventh HSP Kickoff. The event attracted numerous interested people who not only wanted to find out about the wide range of sports options, but also supported a charitable cause by making donations at the sports equipment flea market and waffle stand. The winter semester was ushered in with many interactive hands-on activities and informative stands.

The HSP course program for the winter semester 2024/2025 is now online! The booking of the courses will be activated from Wednesday, 16.10.2024! Check the respective courses for the exact registration start date. In addition, the indoor tennis dates at the MTV start on 21.10.2024. The outdoor tennis facility at the IfSS is closed.
