On Friday, 13.12.2024, the fencing department of KIT University Sports organized an internal tournament. The event was held in the so-called relay mode - an exciting format in which one epee and one foil fencer form a team of two.

Before each match against another team, a draw is held to decide whether the epee or foil fencers will fight first. The first pairing fights to 5 hits, then the second pairing takes over the current score and continues the fight to 10 hits. The aim is then to either defend a lead or make up for a deficit.

In the preliminary round, all teams fenced against each other before going into the knockout round. After numerous exciting and hard-fought battles, the team of András and Max and the team of Felix and Elias finally reached the final. After falling behind early on, András' team showed great fighting spirit, caught up and won the final by the narrowest of margins.
