  • A group of 6 KIT members took part in the 10km DHM on 05.07.24, which took place as part of the Cologne Zoo Run. The officially measured 10.051km course involved 6 laps of the zoo. The atmosphere in the group was great despite the long journey and the fact that they had to miss the Germany match taking place at the same time, even if the course did not promise any new best times.

With the monkeys roaring and the spectators cheering him on, Hannes Wallmann was the first man to cross the finish line in 7th place (34:53). Tim Althuon finished 13th (36:08) a few seconds ahead of Henning Lulei (15th, 36:19) and Hendrik Kowalewski 17th (36:57). Although most of them were not really satisfied with their result, in the end it was enough for second place in the DHM team ranking.

Caroline Grauer was delighted with her second place in the women's race (37:29) and finished as runner-up, while Jule Emmerich was 11th (43:06). After the run, spectators were able to watch the Germany game, which was broadcast in the finish area. Unfortunately, the announcement of the award ceremony was lost in the commotion, so we missed it. Fortunately, we were able to find those responsible afterwards and were able to take home our prizes after this very impressive run.
