On Tuesday 09.05.23 the DHM preliminary round for men's soccer took place at the KIT in Karlsruhe. Six teams were registered and invited. Unfortunately, Mainz canceled their participation in the morning and withdrew. As a result, the tournament schedule had to be completely adjusted, with the remaining 5 teams playing each team against each other with a final table for the placings.

The competition was contested by: TU Aachen, Uni Tübingen, WG Heidelberg, WG Darmstadt & WG Karlsruhe.

WG Karlsruhe came out on top and thus advanced to the intermediate round.

In an exciting final match between WG Heidelberg and WG Darmstadt, the runner-up was determined. In the end, WG Darmstadt came out on top with a 1:0 victory and thus also advanced to the intermediate round.
