Things got underway in Bayreuth on the morning of Sunday 16 June. Our men's team and our two women's teams had to enter the qualifying round. Our men's team, consisting of Dorian Lehmann and Simon Angele, performed well after initial difficulties and qualified for the main round in 19th place. In the main round, they won their first two matches against the 13th seeded team and also put in a very strong performance against the 3rd seeded team. Unfortunately, the team lost the following game. After another win in the Looserbaum, Dorian and Simon ended up in 7th place after losing to last year's DHM winners.

Our two women's teams of Liv Dahmen and Anna-Lena Dosenbach as well as Lisa-Marie Walter and Annika Dilzer also fought their way through to the final round of qualifying. Unfortunately, our two women's teams met there, which meant that only one KIT women's team was able to progress to the main round. The duel between the KIT teams was won by Liv and Anna-Lena. After a slightly nervous start to the main round, the two played very strongly and were able to defeat not only the eventual runners-up but also the eventual DHM champions in the first three games. In the semi-finals, Liv and Anna-Lena were once again up against the eventual DHM champions. In a very close match, they unfortunately lost in the third set. After the frustrating semi-final, the two unfortunately also lost in the match for 3rd place. Despite the difficult ending, Liv and Anna-Lena finished in an impressive 4th place.

    adh-Open Beach Volleyball 2024

Two teams made the trip to the adh-Open in Constance. Our first team of Anna Schneider and Felix Harr started in a group with the second teams from Kassel and Bonn and the third team from the hosts in Constance. In the first game, they clearly defeated the team from Bonn. Unfortunately, only one set went to our team in the match against the hosts. Unfortunately, Anna and Felix also lost their last match against the team from Kassel. As a result, they were tied on points in the table with the team from Constance and were unfortunately eliminated due to the direct comparison.

Our second team of Hanna Bletzinger and Jan Bone was in the same group as the first teams from Bonn and Würzburg and the second team from Marburg. After a very good 15:2 in the first set against the team from Bonn, their concentration waned considerably in the second set, meaning that they only just won the second set. After the wake-up call in the first game, the two also won the next two group games, meaning that they finished the group phase as winners. After Hanna and Jan lost the first set to the team from Munich in the quarter-finals, they won the second set clearly. Unfortunately, too many mistakes crept in again in the third set, meaning that the pair had to settle for 5th place in the end after a narrow defeat.
