On 06.05.2024, our women's volleyball team traveled to Heidelberg for the preliminary round of the DHM in volleyball. The destination was clear: Stralsund.

Although we were highly motivated, the group stage showed that we were not yet a well-coordinated team. We won the first set in both matches against Mainz and Heidelberg, but had to concede the second set in each case. Fortunately, we kept our nerve and won both third sets with aplomb.

As group winners, we played Darmstadt in the semi-finals. Here we were finally well-rehearsed and ready. With a clear 2:0 victory, we went straight through to the final, where we once again faced our opponents from the group stage. It quickly became apparent that the Heidelberg team had used up the last of their energy in the previous match against Freiburg, while we were just starting to really turn up the heat. We clearly won the first set and dominated the second. With many long series of serves and strong attacks, we were able to close out the final set 25:15 and thus qualify for Stralsund.

We are now looking forward to the last weekend in June, when we will try to build on our previous performance and win the championship.
