At the German University Championships in the discipline of karate, the lower level of our team put in an impressive performance and achieved several podium finishes in the disciplines of kumite, kata individual and kata team. The athletes showed their skills and fought with great determination.
Particularly noteworthy is the 1st place achieved by our team consisting of Yiran Guo, Fatma Chebbi and Zeineb Chebbi in the discipline Team Kata. The synchronicity and precision with which they presented their katas impressed not only the spectators but also the jury.
Ioannis Karapatzaks took part in the upper level in the disciplines Kumite up to 75 kg and the open weight class. He delivered strong fights and tried to assert himself in these competitions.
In addition to the sporting success, it is important to mention that our team was accompanied by a dedicated fellow student Marijn van Geest and the experienced coach Carolin Scheib. Their support and advice contributed significantly to the success of our athletes.
Overall, participating in the German University Karate Championships was a great success for our team, and we are proud of the performances of both the junior and senior classes. This event not only shows the athletic talent of our students, but also the importance of support from dedicated team members and coaches. We look forward to further successes and challenges in the field of karate.
