On July 22, the university sports climbing group made its way to Erlangen to take part in the German University Sports Climbing Championships 2023.

The climbers achieved excellent placings in the individual competition. In the qualification, 8 routes had to be conquered under the difficult conditions of the midday heat. Robert Langendörfer achieved an impressive 9th place, closely followed by Moritz Aberle in 12th place. Max Klein also proved his skills and finished in a respectable 23rd place. Viona Schmitz secured a respectable 25th place in the women's competition.

Although they narrowly missed out on a place in the top 8 final, the mood was not dampened. After the competition, the group took the opportunity to explore the local crags of the Frankenjura and were able to secure impressively fast ascents of challenging routes such as "Massaker" (9/9+) and "Pickselsau" (9-).
