DHM in the half marathon in Mainz
On Sunday, the two KIT SC athletes Peter Raber and Sebastian Speiser as well as Tobias Merz competed for the KIT at the German University Championships in the half marathon.
On the 21.1 km circuit through the old town of Mainz, the three defied the hot weather but ultimately had to admit defeat to the strong competition. Tobias Merz crossed the finish line in 1:23:25 in eleventh place. One place further ahead, Peter Raber crossed the finish line in 1:20:33. Sebastian Speiser took fifth place with a new personal best time of 1:17:13 and was the eleventh runner overall to cross the finish line. Even though the KIT athletes were not able to place this time, all three were largely satisfied and praised the extremely good atmosphere along the course and the large crowd in Mainz.
