Triathlon Group Successful at Ironman Hawaii
At this year's Ironman Hawaii, which took place for the 33rd time on October 08.

Hochschulsport participated again. The 29-year-old Steffen Haak, PhD student of Prof.
Dr. Weinhardt, research associate at the FZI and chairman of the
triathlon group, was able to defy the usual weather conditions with heat and wind.

solid swim and bike performance (3,8k swim in 1:00h, 180km
cycling in 4:59h), a fast marathon (2:58h for
42.2km) earned him 2nd place in the 25-29 age group. As 11th German
he needed about one hour longer than the Australian Craig
Alexander, who won his third world championship title in a new course best time
of 8:03h. Best German was Andreas Raelert from
Rostock in third place.
